What the college says
This qualification is designed for learners who wish to pursue a career as an employed and/or self-employed make-up artist. Learners will provide a range of creative make-up services in media, theatre and fashion and photographic settings. Learners will also style and fit hair pieces, apply false eyelashes and understand related cosmetic science that underpins the subject. Learners will also develop communication and customer service skills together with research and problem solving skills.
What you need to get on
It is expected students will have achieved either one of the following qualifications or have appropriate prior experience. Level 2 Beauty Therapy Level 2 hairdressing Level 2 Hair and Media make-up.
How you are assessed
Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
