What the college says
The Level 2 Certificate in Nail Treatments is a substantial vocational course that will prepare you for a career as a nail technician. Throughout this qualification you will develop your knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology. You will develop a range of technical skills along with interpersonal and communication skills.
What you need to get on
Previous attainment of a Level 1 Beauty Therapy or a successful interview and skills test. Learners under 19 years of age will need to complete functional skills or GCSE depending on qualifications already achieved. Entry onto any course at East Durham College is subject to final approval from the Assistant Principal. Where relevant, the term ‘entry requirements’ also includes DBS checks, references, fitness to practice, etc.
How you are assessed
Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.
What this level means
The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
