This course is designed for people aged 16-24 (with an EHCP) who need additional support and provides the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed in a career in their chosen industries.We will provide you with experience, skills and qualifications that are valued by employers.When you are on the programme, you will:Be placed with an employer for a minimum of 5 monthsFrom term two, be on placement for 5-12 hours a week with your personal Job Coach who will make sure you get the correct assistance and support in the workplaceHave lessons, workshops and tutorials are front-loaded to equip interns with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your work placementStudy work-related numeracy and literacyHave the option to enrol on GCSE or Functional Skills courses in English and Maths alongside the Supported InternshipStudy employability skills to develop your skills in teamwork, communication, job applications, how to manage your time and much moreReceive personalised travel-training support according to your needsParticipate in tutorials and enrichment activities Employability drop-in during the third term to promote positive progression opportunitiesReceive three months of additional employability support from Job Coaches which includes CV writing, interview skills, applications and sourcing a positive progression route

What you need to get on

You need to be between 16 and 24 years old and have an Educational and Health Care Plan (EHCP), looking to move into paid employment at the end of the course.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.

What this level means

A supported starting point if exams have not gone well yet.
