You will cover a very wide range of art and design subjects and you will be able to gain good skills across a broad range of subjects in year one. You will have opportunities to work in all the main disciplines from observational drawing to fine art. We will cover painting designing sculpture printmaking craftwork public art photography 3D digital art and much more. Drawing has fundamental importance on the course and usually the first assignment focuses on developing and extending your drawing ability. This then equips you with the skill and confidence to use drawing as an effective visual too

What you need to get on

You will need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English maths and a creative subject. A passion for art and design and a commitment to hard work is essential. The course is equivalent to 3 A levels and is just as demanding. Good writing skills are as important as creative skills.
