What the college says

This Textiles course focuses on surface pattern and design while also giving students the opportunity to study many aspects of Textiles and make either 2D or 3D items. The specification studied is the OCR Art & Design: Textile Design. It may be taken alongside Fine Art Graphic Communication or Photography. Trips and visiting speakers are organised throughout the year in order to inspire students and give them a broader understanding of Textiles and Design. These will come at a variable cost but we will always keep costs down wherever we can.

What you need to get on

You will need 5 GCSEs at grade C or above of the equivalent in a minimum of 4 subject areas including GCSE English a GCSE Art is desirable. You will be asked to do a small assignment before starting the course. This must be completed before enrolment. Plenty of advice will be given and no specialist equipment is necessary.
