In this Diploma, students will learn how to harness their creativity, to design new products and services, to gain experience and confidence in making decisions and to learn how to work independently and in teams. All of these are very transferable skills. Employers often say that they want articulate recruits with good self-awareness, thinking skills, flexible minds and the ability to make good decisions. This course develops all of these. The BTEC Diploma comprises three Core Units, four further Mandatory Units and a variety of Optional Specialist Units. The Core Units include: - The Engineered World (externally assessed) - Investigating an Engineered Product - An Introduction to Communications in Engineering The Mandatory Units include: - Health and Safety in Engineering - Engineering Materials - Interpreting Engineering Information (external assessment) - Mathematics for Engineering Other Specialist Units may include: - Electronic Circuit Design and Construction - Welding
