The T Level in Accounting is intended to help you progress to a career in the accountancy sector. The purpose of the T Level Technical Qualification in Accounting is to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to progress into highly skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university, within the specialist area of accountancy. At the end of the Technical Qualification, you are expected to demonstrate threshold competence, which means that you have gained the core knowledge and skills related to accountancy and are well placed to develop full occupational competence with additional development and support once employed in the accountancy sector. The technical qualification is made up of two mandatory components which need to be successfully achieved to attain the technical qualification as well as the full T Level Technical Qualification in Accounting (Level Three); Core Component and Occupational Specialism. In addition, there is an optional qualification embedded within the T Level – AAT Level Three Diploma in Accounting. A significant element of the T Level is an industry placement of 315 hours over the two years.
