Engineering Level 2 is ideal if you wish to develop your career within the engineering sector. This qualification will allow you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for further study, employment and career progression in the engineering sector. You will also learn through undertaking a variety of collaborative activities and research tasks. You will receive a number of mock tasks to measure your understanding and help prepare you for the formal assessment. All tasks require a range of skills such as communication, organisation, independence, time management, planning and research. To achieve a Merit or Distinction Grade requires more detail including knowing how to explain, analyse, evaluate and justify.

What you need to get on

You will need 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 including Maths or completion of a Level 1 course plus GCSE Grade 3 in Maths

How you are assessed

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
