If you would like a member of your staff to gain a qualification as a Teaching Assistant, this is the course for you. It will give them the knowledge and experience to be able to work as a Teaching Assistant in a primary or secondary school. They will attend college for around four hours a week for one year plus they will spend around one day a week in school to gain practical experience in the role.

What you need to get on

You will need an appropriate work placement in a school. Please discuss this with the tutor when you attend the interview----Literacy skills to at least Level 1--On-line Numeracy and Literacy assessments will be given at interview--To be 16 years of age or over--

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
