at Vision West Nottinghamshire College, Mansfield · college
What the college says
The Supported Internship is a supported employment programme designed for young people with additional educational needs and an Education, Health, and Care Plan in their last year of college. The course is designed to allow students to gain confidence and employability skills ready for the workplace. The course will include a combination of classroom based learning and work placement hours with an employer or within an industry of the learner’s choice, with the potential to lead to paid employment. With help from a college job coach, students will be supported to find and access an appropriate work placement that meets their needs, aspirations, helps to build their confidence and also supports them to become independent. Watch this video to see how supported interns have enjoyed their placement at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and discovering new skills.
