Students broaden their experience and skills in solo and ensemble performances. Students are introduced to a wide range of composition techniques and practical rehearsal skills such as improvisation and techniques linked to live performance. The course is designed to encourage students to be creative and willing to further their exploration of performance techniques and composition at a higher level. Students must be prepared to hone their listening and develop their critical review competence. Music from a range of cultures and the impact this has had upon modern western music will be examined through the duration of the course.

What you need to get on

Grade 9-3 (A*-D) in five GCSEs including English and Mathematics. Plus a minimum grade 4 in English or Mathematics and related subjects. Students will need to successfully pass an audition.
