The BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sport Fitness and Personal Training is equivalent in size to two A levels. It is a two year full time programme for those who want to work in the health and fitness industry including as a gym instructor and personal trainer. The qualification provides the knowledge and develops skills required for professional accreditation with CIMSPA (Chartered Institute of Management for Sport and Physical Activity) as a Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer.This course is delivered in partnership with Rhinos Gym Stamford who provide some of The gym space used during practical sessions. The course also utilises the gym at Borderville Sports Centre.
What you need to get on
4 GCSEs grade 4 and above including English GCSE. English is essential for the written part of the course. There are a number of reports such as client feedback forms which need to be written and therefore English is essential. Those who do not achieve English can start on the L2 Sport programme and progress to L3 the following year. We will review each application on a case-by-case basis to ensure you get a place on the course most suitable for you.
