What the college says

This course is for our South Shields Football Club (FC) Academy student athletes who wish to combine a qualification in Sports, Coaching and Development with our elite training and competitive games programme. Based at 1st Cloud Arena, the home of South Shields FC, it is an ideal course for those student athletes who are interested in becoming a sports coach or physical education teacher. The course provides a fantastic opportunity to learn from industry specialists, develop coaching and teaching skills, and enter a life-long career in this exciting and rewarding sector. Student athletes will also spend 1 day per week at our Bede Campus to benefit from the industry facilities in our world class Sports Academy. Acceptance to the South Shields FC Academy is subject to a successful football trial.

What you need to get on

You will need 4 GCSE's at grade 4-9 including Maths and English. Or a relevant Level 2 qualification. Entry to this course will also depend on a successful trial with South Shields FC Academy.
