Buxton & Leek College have partnered with Buxton Football Club to offer an elite football academy provision, delivered at the Silverlands Stadium. This course is for those interested in playing competitive football at an elite level, the Buxton Football Club Academy pathway is available. Students will represent Buxton FC in the National Alliance Under 19’s League playing teams such as Tranmere Rovers, Preston North End, Crewe Alexandra & Rochdale AFC. As part of this programme, you could be selected to train and potentially begin integration into the First Team, alongside shadowing professional coaches and players. We had students represent the First Team in the FA Cup Round 2 fixture and during the successful promotion campaign into the National Football League. You will have the opportunity to develop highly transferable skills, develop an impressive CV that stands out and benefit from development opportunities within elite sports, fitness and leisure combined with coaching qualifications. What you need to get on

You will need a minimum of three Grade 3 GCSEs (at least one must be Maths or English) OR achieved a Level 1 college course qualification along with Grade 3 GCSE English or Maths, or Level 1 Functional skills (if you don't achieve these please contact us so that we can discuss your options).

How you are assessed

Two-year technical qualification with a 45-day industry placement. Equivalent to three A levels.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
