What the college says

This is a new course offered. The course is an Applied General qualification that has been developed to advance your understanding of food science and nutrition. Year one you will learn more about applying your knowledge and understanding about meeting the nutritional needs of specific groups of people and progress successfully through theory and practical aspects of the course so that you gain confidence in planning and cooking complex dishes. You will be assessed by an externally assessed written examination and an internally assessed and externally moderated written and practical assignment. In your second year of study the focus will move to look at ensuring food is safe to eat and experimenting to solve food production problems. The assessment process at the end of the second year takes a similar format to the previous year.
