What the college says

The Royal Academy of Dance Silver Swans ® initiative has been developed for older learners so that they, too, can take part in ballet classes. Whether you're an experienced dancer, have briefly dabbled, or are a complete novice, older learners of any ability are welcomed into this class. The class will follow the traditional structure of a ballet class but the emphasis will be on enjoying the movement and expression rather than developing more advanced technique. The most important thing is that you have fun. Your tutor is an RAD Registered Teacher, a Life Member and Associate of IDTA (Ballet), a Silver Swans ® Licensee and Certified to teach Progressing Ballet Technique ® (Levels 1-3).

What you need to get on

This course is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced dancers. You will need enthusiasm for dance and a basic level of fitness and mobility. You should be aware that it is a practical class and so you will need to be able to participate in the physical activities planned to the best of your ability. Your tutor is very happy to make any adjustments to exercises set to meet particular physical or learning needs.
