What the college says

"This course is ideal for those new to clothes making who want to learn the fundamentals of garment construction in a supportive and practical environment. Working step-by-step, you will create a simple garment using a pre-provided pattern while building essential sewing skills. You will start by learning how to take accurate body measurements and be introduced to understanding and interpreting pattern markings and instructions. The course will guide you through pattern layout on fabric, marking techniques, and accurate cutting methods. You will develop key construction skills, including sewing neck facings, finishing armholes, sewing darts and applying seam neatening techniques to give your garment a clean, professional finish. By the end of the course, you will have completed your garment and gained a strong foundation in clothes making, providing a solid base for progressing to more independent projects in future courses."
