The Level 3 Diploma in Creative and Performing Arts (Dance) aims to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding for entry to employment in the creative and performing arts industries or progression to further study at a higher level. The qualification offers practical, structured learning specialising in dance, giving students experiences and skills relevant to employment and further study, not only within the creative and performing arts industries, but also in the wider industries. Building on knowledge and skills gained at Level 2, the course covers units of work such as Performance Preparation, Planning for a Career in the Creative and Performing Arts, Choreography, Dance Technique and Performance and Global Dance styles. Students will explore these both practically and theoretically, culminating in high standard performances. Students who embark on this course will have the opportunity to take part in course related experiences such as theatre visits, residential trips and school productions. The course is suitable for those with a love of dance, theatre and performing to build on their skills but also those who would like to develop their skills in presentation, communication, collaboration, time management, independent thinking and problem solving as well as building confidence. All vital skills for today’s competitive world.
What you need to get on
In addition to the general entry requirements, a Pass at Level 2 Dance or relevant performing experience is desirable.
