The course provides a critical approach to the consideration of moral and philosophical issues. Students study the theories of philosophers such as; Aristotle, Aquinas and Kant, through to contemporary discourse from Bertrand Russell and Richard Dawkins. An integral part of the course is to apply theories through debate, to issues of importance, for example whether or not we have free will, or if it is ever justified to go to war.

What you need to get on

Entry to Hinchley Wood Sixth Form is dependent on achieving 7 GCSE passes, comprising level 9 - 4 grades. A minimum of grade 4 is required in Maths and English; as well as a Grade 5 in GCSE Religious Studies (candidates without a Religious Studies GCSE will be considered on an individual basis). Grade 5 in English Literature or Language

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
