What the college says

It is concerned with understanding the experience and behaviour of humans and what makes people 'tick'. Psychologists also study non-human behaviour. It addresses questions such as: How can we improve our memory? Why are girls achieving higher average grades at GCSE than boys? Does watching violent films on TV affect levels of aggression? Why people behave the way they do? What determines who you're attracted to? Why do some people fear snakes yet few think they are cuddly? Why do we have particular types of dreams? These are just a few examples of the vast number of interesting issues that psychologists are interested in.
