Psychopathology: abnormality, mental health disorders and treatments. Paper 2: Approaches, Biopsychology and Research methods. The Biological and Psychological approaches to key theories including: behaviourist, cognitive, biological, psychodynamic and humanist. Nervous system and the biology of stress. Functions of the brain and how we study it. Biological rhythms. Research methods, the scientific process, data handling, analysis of data, inferential tests. MODULES OF STUDY YEAR 13 Paper 3: Issues and debates, then optional choices from a number of areas e.g. Relationships, Gender, Schizophrenia, Eating disorders, Aggression, Forensics, Addiction. Gender, reductionism vs. holism, culture, nature vs. nurture, determinism vs. free will, idiographic or nomothetic approach, animal studies and ethics. Plus optional specific choices.

Grade 6 in English, Grade 5 in Maths and Grade 5 in a Science
