Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behaviour. Psychology will give you an understanding of the way people think and why people behave the way that they do. Students study key approaches in psychology and methods related to the core areas of Psychology, including cognitive, social, biological, behavioural, psychodynamic and humanistic. Research methods are delivered through the course content along with psychological issues and debates, such as the nature/ nurture debate. A-level students study attractive topic options which help them to understand psychopathology, including schizophrenia, addiction and contemporary topics such as gender. If you interested in people, then Psychology can lead to careers in Clinical psychology, Forensics, Human resources as well as teaching and nursing.

What you need to get on

5 GCSE Grade 4-9, inc GCSE Grade 5 in Biology /Combined Trilogy or GCSE Maths Grade 5.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
