This course is suitable for anyone who enjoys the creative problem solving process, whether viewed from a scientific or arts based background. Knowledge and understanding of design, materials and manufacturing processes will be developed through both theoretical and practical activities including product analysis exercises, focused small tasks and design based assignments. The course will also develop students' ICT skills such as the use of computer aided design and manufacture (CAD/CAM). Options for progression include: architectur, industrial product design, engineering, furniture and jewellery design.

What you need to get on

Ideally Grade 5 GCSE Design and Technology plus Grade 4 English and Mathematics. Applicants not meeting these criteria may be accepted after interview with Mr. M. Curtis.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
