Thinking about a career in science but not sure where to start? This Pre-Access course is designed to help adult learners explore science as a career path and prepare for further study. It�s a great stepping stone towards the Access to Higher Education Diploma.

What you need to get on

You�ll need a grade 3 in GCSE English and Maths and be actively working towards grade 4. No formal science qualifications are required, but an interest in science is essential and will be assessed at interview. Applicants will also complete an initial assessment in English and Maths.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
