What the college says

This course is for students who wish to investigate how physical models answer the big questions of how the universe works. The modules studied in the first year are; measurements and their errors, particles and radiation, waves, mechanics and materials, electricity. The topics studied in the second year are; further mechanics and thermal, fields and their consequences, nuclear physics and astrophysics. What you need to get on

A minimum of five GCSE’s at level 6 from five separate subjects including a 6 in dual award science or a 6 in physics and one other science and a 6 in mathematics. Students will also need to have an average of 5.5 points or more from their GCSEs.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
