What the college says

The course begins by building on many of the topics you will be familiar with at GCSE. Year 12 covers: practical physics, particles and radiation, waves, mechanics and materials, and electricity. Year 13 covers: further mechanics and thermal physics, fields and their consequences and nuclear physics.

What you need to get on

All students entering the Sixth Form to undertake a 3 A Level Programme must have secured 5 GCSE grades at 4 or above. It is expected that all students will achieve a GCSE grade 4 or higher in GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. We would usually recommend students have a grade 6 or above in GCSE Combined Science or two of the separate GCSE sciences (Biology, Chemistry or Physics).

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
