What the college says

The AQA specification provides the basis of an innovative course designed to engage and inspire students. It begins with a study of the laws, theories and models of Physics and finishes with an exploration of their practical applications. The subject matter is delivered through a mixture of conceptual and context led approaches. You will study the concepts of mechanics, materials, waves, dc electricity and the nature of light during the AS course. The A2 course develops further on mechanics, fields, particle physics, thermal energy, nuclear decay, oscillations and cosmology.

What you need to get on

A minimum of five passes at grade 5 or higher at GCSE, three of which must be a grade 6 or higher. Within these passes there must be a grade 5 or higher in English Language and at least a 6 in Maths, and either 7 7 in Combined Science, or 7 6 6 in Triple Science.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
