What the college says
Physics is concerned with understanding the physical world around us and asks some deep, fundamental questions about things ranging from subatomic particles (quarks) and how they interact to the nature and creation of objects like stars and galaxies. Physics forms the basis for much present and future technology. From the use of DVD?s involving knowledge of solid state lasers to re-creating the conditions of the universe from just after the big bang at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland, physics opens doors to amazing new understanding. If you find that the more answers you discover, the more questions you want to ask then you are well on the way to becoming a physicist!
