The course will deepen your understanding of the visual world, and the various roles and functions photography has performed across different time periods and cultures. You will gain both technical, ICT and analytical skills that will enrich your appreciation of the arts and the way you see the world.

What you need to get on

Students wishing to take the A Level in Photography should be open minded and willing to try new things. Whilst there is a lot of technical and ICT input into the course, it is essentially an art-based approach to photography, and falls within the art department. No drawing (or art) skills would be needed to pass the course, and pupils would not need any prior photography experience.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
