What the college says
Philosophy, Ethics and Religion will take you on a journey through the big questions that humanity has asked ever since we devised the language to ask them. Why are we here? Why does evil exist? Do we have free will? In exploring these questions you will develop your communication skills, learn to clearly express your views and increase your self-confidence. You will learn how to write logically and to develop reasoned arguments. You will develop your skills in problem-solving and independent thinking.
What you need to get on
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C), including English, with Maths at grade 5 or above. Study of Religious Studies or Philosophy at GCSE is preferred.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.
