What the college says

‘Don’t give me options, give me the facts!’ What are ‘facts’? What constitutes a ‘justified true belief’? Are people’s views on right and wrong merely opinions, or moral facts? Is belief in God dependent upon evidence or upon reason, or neither? Is my mind identical with my brain? What is consciousness? Philosophy asks these, and many other questions! This new course offers the opportunity for both Science and Arts students to explore fundamental questions, and to examine the answers given by key philosophers such as Hume, Locke and Russell.
