What the college says

The Entry 1 qualifications in Personal Progress are approved qualifications, eligible for use in Foundation Learning provision. They are made up of units which can be broadly divided into the following areas: Literacy/Numeracy/IT; Independent Living Skills; Personal Development; Community Participation; Preparation for Work; Units Particularly Accessible for Learners with PMLD. Units can be built up in any combination to reach the total credit value required for a qualification. Learners who accrue 8 credits will receive an Award qualification Learners who accrue 14 credits will receive a Certificate qualification Learners who accrue 37 credits will receive a Diploma qualification Learners who accrue fewer than 8 credits will be awarded a unit certificate, provided they have met the full requirements of the unit(s). Units may be repeated, but are only moderated once. Once the unit has been certificated, it will not be moderated again even if the candidate is now operating at a higher stage on the Achievement Continuum. The credits available for a unit can only be gained once.

What you need to get on

The qualifications have been developed for learners working between P Levels 1-8 and Entry 1 to have their achievements recognised within a qualification framework. They can be undertaken in schools, colleges, residential centres, training providers and independent provision.

How you are assessed

Entry level and Level 1 study, English and maths retakes, and supported programmes.
