What the college says
A LEVEL HISTORY Students explore three key historical periods: Britain and its development since 1918, the Great Depression and 1930s America and the driving forces behind the various witch-hunts between the 16th and 19th centuries. In each case, students will critically examine the factors that contributed to and underpinned the historical event as well. Students will also evaluate the extent to which they agree with interpretations of a chosen historical controversy, justifying their opinions and constructing well-reasoned arguments in a 4000 word essay.
What you need to get on
Attainment 8 Score of at least 50+ is required and Grade 5+ in English Literature or English Language and Mathematics GCSE and a Grade 5+ in History to be considered.
How you are assessed
Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
