What the college says

If you have an interest in singing, dancing or acting (or a combination), and your dream is performing in musical theatre shows, then this is the course to help you develop your talents and realise your dreams. You need energy, commitment and enthusiasm and in return you will learn about the history and context of the industry, perform in college productions and develop your vocal, physical and acting abilities. We attract students from St Helens, Liverpool and beyond, due to our success and reputation in this subject area.

What you need to get on

5 GCSEs or equivalent, grade 9 - 4, including Maths and English Language. Ideally, Drama, Dance or Music at Level 2 (GCSE or BTEC) will have already been studied, but this is not vital. However, it is essential that a student can demonstrate proficient performance and technical skills in at least two disciplines and that they are willing to develop skills in the third.

How you are assessed

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.

What this level means

The A-level-equivalent step, and what universities and employers ask for.

Is it open to 16 to 18 year olds?

Approved for 16 to 18 study on the government's Section 96 list.
