This course is designed to give students a broad study of the early years sector and various child care settings. The course is suitable for students who: -have an interest in the early years, from birth to 7 years 11 months -are interested in being an early years educator -want to gain a Level 3 qualification to support further study in Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE). Areas of study include children's development, play and learning and children's physical development, care and health needs. This 2 year course, equivalent to one A level, comprises 4 units, 2 of which are internally assessed and externally moderated and 2 of which are externally assessed. The course is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.
