This qualification provides an engaging and in depth coverage of the world of construction. The construction sector covers a wide range of activities, and so the choice of units available enables the precise nature of the qualification to be tailored to meet the interests and progression aspirations of individual groups of students. Students can start to learn the basics of many of the practical skills needed in the industry, selected from the following: bricklaying, carpentry, joinery, plumbing, plastering, electrical installation, painting, decorating, drawing and building maintenance. There are also opportunities to understand more about what it means to work as part of a team, and to work safely.
