Progressing from the Level 1 Painting Study Programme, this Level 2 course teaches you further painting skills including how to apply water-borne paint, wallpapering basics for both walls and ceilings and how to apply paint systems by roller. Youll gain valuable experience both in the classroom and as part of our work experience programme including working to restore derelict homes in the community. Youll also get to take part in developing employability skills in partnership with local businesses ensuring that you have the relevant skills you need to enter the world of work. Following on from this course, you can begin an Apprenticeship in the construction industry. You can also progress straight into work as a painter or construction site worker. progression into a level three professional course is alos available.

What you need to get on

4 x GCSEs at grade 4(C) or above, including Maths and English

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
