Computer Science is a practical subject which will allow you to develop the capacity to think creatively, innovatively, logically and critically through problem solving. You will analyse problems in computational terms such as abstraction and decomposition, and will create programs you design. You will have a chance to apply the principles you learn to real-world systems. This qualification will allow you to progress onto any career in which an understanding of technology is required and is also suitable for any further study.

What you need to get on

At least 5 GCSEs, or equivalent at grade 4 or above. Computer Science 5 (if Maths 6), Mathematics 5 (if CS 6), or Mathematics 6 if no CS. English Language 4

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
