Biology is the study of life. At any level of study, this subject is based around the structure, working and lives of plants and animals. At Advanced Level, however, the depth of knowledge becomes greater and the finer detail of living organisms is brought to life. Biology covers many topics, from conservation to the intricacies of cell ultra-structure.

What you need to get on

The minimum entry requirements for students are the best 8 GCSE grades, totalling 38 or higher. For example, two Grade 6s, two Grade 5s, and four Grade 4s. In addition, students also need to have secured a Grade 4 GCSE in English; with a Grade 6-6 in Combined Science or a Grade 6 in Triple Biology and a Grade 6 in GCSE Mathematics.
