What the college says
This course provides comprehensive instruction on health and safety requirements, as well as the relevant legislation governing the use of chainsaws in the workplace. Participants are guided through essential maintenance procedures, supported by the underpinning technical knowledge necessary to carry out these tasks effectively and safely. The course also covers correct starting procedures and operational checks. In addition, participants will gain hands-on experience in cross-cutting timber, learning how to evaluate timber properties and select the correct cutting techniques to effectively and safely manage tension and compression forces.
