Are you creative and looking to specialise as a Nail Technician in the beauty therapy industry? This course will give you the practical skills you need to provide a range of services, such as manicures, pedicures, nail extensions and acrylic nails. You'll also learn the latest nail art techniques from our expert tutors. Completion of this course will enable you to enter the industry as a professional Nail Technician or progress on to our Level 3 Nail Technology. The areas of training are as follows: Health and safety. Client care. Acrylic nails. Manicure. Nail art. Pedicure. Eyelash tinting. Make-up. Following completion of this course you progress to Level 3 Nail Services or work as a nail technician. The Government requires that all students studying programmes take separate Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed. If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't already have a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths they will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards higher grades in English and Maths or a higher level Maths qualification we can help you do that too.

What you need to get on

Three GCSEs at grade A* to D plus English grade 3 or above.

How you are assessed

Learning a trade with tools and equipment, often in a college workshop or salon.

What this level means

The GCSE-equivalent step, and the usual route into Level 3.
