This course will introduce the terminology and practical techniques needed to understand and carry out multitrack recording sessions, MIDI sequencing skills and various aspects of audio production. You will learn how to set up equipment including audio workstations and microphones, as well as learn about microphone placement and the principles of creating a stereo mixdown. This is an ideal course for anyone wishing to pursue a career in music production, recording or DJ production or wishing to study this subject at a higher level at university.
What you need to get on
At least 4-5 GCSEs graded 9-4 including English and Maths at grade 4 or above. The ability to play an instrument or sing would be an advantage, as would basic note reading skills.

One subject in depth, assessed largely through coursework and projects.
