The course will help you to develop aural, theoretical and analytical skills as well as enabling you to explore a significant set work and an area of study selected to suit your preferences. You can choose to study compositional techniques to create music which draws on your experience and enthusiasm or to arrange a given piece of music. In your performances, you can present solo and ensemble pieces and work with music technology.

What you need to get on

All students entering the Sixth Form to undertake a 3 A Level programme must have secured 5 GCSE grades at 4 or above. It is expected that all students will achieve a GCSE grade 4 or higher in GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. It is highly desirable for you to have studied Music at GCSE. Grade 5 or equivalent standard in your chosen instrument is recommended in terms of performance work.
