The OCR A Level in Music will provide a contemporary, accessible and creative education in Music with an integrated approach to the three main elements - Performing, Composing and Appraising. Learners are encouraged to be creative and to broaden their musical horizons and understanding with new Areas of Study that inspire and challenge. Through the Areas of Study they will explore musical context, musical language and performance and composition skills. With an emphasis on musicality and practical music making, OCR's specification is designed to encourage teachers to teach musically through integrating the skills of listening, performing and composing.

What you need to get on

Minimum TPS of 42, and the specific subject requirements (Grade 6 in GCSE Music or Grade 5 in an instrument/voice if GCSE Music has not been taken.)

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
