Music is about communication and personal expression through sound. In the A Level the three key areas are developed - a choice of solo and ensemble performing, a choice of composition ideas, and listening to and understanding a wide range of music.

What you need to get on

The minimum academic entrance requirement for the sixth form is 6 x Grade 9-4 GCSEs with at least 3 subjects at Grade 6 including English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or higher. We strongly advise that students have at least a GCSE Grade 6 in the subjects they will study at A Level. Additional subject specific entry requirements are listed on our website. Some subjects can be taken at A Level without having studied them at GCSE.
