What the college says

The Music A Level is made up of three parts - Composing (30%), Performing (30%) and Appraising (40%). The nine learning hours each fortnight at Arden are split sensibly between the three disciplines. Students will have access to a wide range of excellent facilities including a dedicated A Level teaching space, equipped with iMacs running Logic Pro and Sibelius, and a professional standard recording studio, in addition to the two well equipped teaching rooms. The Music Department also offers numerous exciting, varied and high quality extra-curricular activities for A Level students including a 25 piece Big Band, a Sixth Form/Year 11 choir, orchestras and wind bands.

What you need to get on

Grade 5-9 in Maths and English plus three other GCSE subjects at grade 5 or above AND Music GCSE Grade 6 at GCSE.

How you are assessed

Academic subjects, mostly exams, three or four at once. The traditional route to university.
