Musical students will appreciate the flexibility of the course allowing students to develop skills on their chosen instrument and encouraging freedom of expression in the composition work. All compositions are recorded onto CD and use of the recording studio on an individual basis is encouraged.

What you need to get on

Students would be able to take the course if they have taken GCSE Music and achieved a grade 6 or above. Grade 5 theory would be satisfactory as an equal alternative. All students must be accomplished performers on their main instrument, usually equating to grade V or above. Performing for A Level constitutes around 33% of the marks. Candidates without GCSE Music can be considered with a level of practical around grade 4 or 5 and theory of grade 5 or above.
