Music
at Bishop Justus Cofe School, Bromley · school or sixth form
What the college says
Students are required to study the three main strands of music: performing, composing and listening/analysis. Performance consists of various recorded performances throughout the course leading up to a final solo recital that is assessed externally. For the composition unit, students are required to complete two compositions that are set and assessed by the examination board. The listening and analysis paper assesses the student’s theoretical and historical knowledge of a number of set works, including genres such as classical, film, pop and jazz alongside unfamiliar pieces from each historical era.
