If you are excited by cars and want to enter into the vehicle repair industries but are unsure which path to follow, this course is for you. The course is practical and hands on. You'll get the essential skills, knowledge and experience you need to start preparing for a career in the automotive industry. What will I study? -You'll develop the technical skills needed by today's motor vehicle industry, including basic processes, principles and foundation skills. It will provide you with the essential knowledge you need to work as a technician working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist repairs. You'll study both the theory and practical aspects of: -Vehicle power units -Vehicle braking and suspension systems -Vehicle electrics -Wheels tyres and exhaust. The first six weeks of the course will give you a chance to experience the different aspects of the Automotive Industry including Mechanical, Servicing, Body Repair, Engineering and Paint Refinishing. After this you will have gained the necessary experience and knowledge to make an educated decisions as to which discipline you want to follow as your career path. The course is structures to give you the best practical experience in your chosen area. What you need to get on
How will I be assessed? -You will be assessed throughout the programme by use of practical assessments within our workshops and also via online assessments. You will also need to build a portfolio of evidence that will be submitted to the awarding body ath the end of the programme. How will I be taught? -You will be taught in our state of the art workshops working on the latest vehicles supported by tutors with years of industrial experience. The majority of this programme will be in the workshops working on vehicles and within the body and paint shops. Qualifications Needed: -No formal qualifications but you'll need to take an initial assessment. -No formal requirements, just a positive attitude and a commitment to developing practical skills. -No previous qualifications are required for this programme, however acceptance can only be given as a result of a successful pre course intervie
