This VCQ is an integral part of IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship Framework (Light Vehicle Route). Therefore learners (normally aged 16-25) who are keen to build a career in the industry can take this VCQ as part of the Apprenticeship framework. This level 3 qualification is designed to provide a standardised approach for the delivery and assessment of the competence and knowledge requirements. It also forms the integral component of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Advanced Apprenticeship framework (for Light Vehicle). Learners are required to demonstrate all of the evidence requirements, learning outcomes, assessment criteria through workplace evidence. Full guidance documents and assessment records are supplied by IMI. For some learners this qualification could prepare them for progression to further learning and training. For others, this qualification could also provide a useful recognition of their practical skills and knowledge, to aid their step from one job role to another.
